The short version

No account. You never sign in to use Twyn.
Your scans stay on your device, not on our servers.
No advertising, no analytics, no tracking.
Data leaves your device only when you share a scan, or run a Wi-Fi speed test.

Twyn scans your home with your iPhone or iPad and builds a model of it: a floor plan, a 3D model, and a Wi-Fi coverage map. Almost everything happens on your device. That is the whole idea: your home stays yours. Twyn is provided by Twynhomes Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales.

What the app uses, and why

To build a model of your home, Twyn uses the following, all processed on your device:

The LiDAR sensor and depth data, to measure the shape of your rooms. This is what makes the scan.
The camera, to capture the colour and texture of your rooms so the 3D model resembles your real space. The flashlight may flash briefly during a scan; that is normal and helps capture colour.
Device motion (ARKit), to track your position as you walk so everything is placed correctly in space.
A Wi-Fi speed measurement, only when you use the Wi-Fi feature. See below.

We ask iOS for camera permission before using it. You can change permissions any time in the iOS Settings app.

What we do not collect

No name, email, password, or account (there is no sign-in).
No location, GPS, or address.
No contacts, calendar, health, or advertising identifiers.
No analytics or crash-tracking that sends your data to us or anyone else.
No third-party advertising or tracking SDKs of any kind.

Where your scans are stored

Your scans (the geometry, the photos captured to colour the model, the Wi-Fi measurements, and any capture clip) are saved only on your device, in the app's own storage. We do not upload or copy them to our servers, because we do not run scan-storage servers.

If you delete a scan in the app, its files are removed from your device. If you delete the app, its data is removed with it.

When data leaves your device

Your data leaves your device only in these cases:

When you export or share a scan. The file goes wherever you send it, and is then governed by that destination's terms, not ours.
When you run a Wi-Fi speed test. To measure your speed, the app times a small download from Cloudflare's public speed-test service (speed.cloudflare.com). Cloudflare sees the network request, including your device's public IP address, as any website you visit would. We do not send your scan, your home layout, or your photos, only the request needed to time a download.

We do not sell your data and we do not share it with advertisers. There is nothing to sell, because it stays on your device.

Payments

Twyn is free to download. An optional one-off in-app purchase unlocks the detailed Wi-Fi features. Payment is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your card number or payment details; Apple tells us only that a purchase was made so the app can unlock. Apple's own privacy terms cover the payment itself.

Your rights (UK GDPR)

Because your data lives on your device, you are in direct control of it. You can open any scan to review it, delete a scan or the whole app to erase its data, and turn off camera access in iOS Settings at any time. Where UK data protection law applies, our basis for the limited processing above is your consent and our legitimate interest in making the app work as you asked.

If you believe we hold any personal data about you (for example because you emailed us), you can contact us to ask for access or deletion, and you may complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Children

Twyn is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes and contact
